Terms of Service

The terms that govern your access to and use of Nora.

Last updated 25 August 2026

Placeholder page. These terms reflect reviewed product capabilities, but final contacts, governing law, dispute and liability terms, and paid-plan terms require decisions before publication.

1. Agreement and operator

These Terms form an agreement between you and Benjamin Ollomo, operator of Nora. By creating an account, accepting these Terms, or using Nora, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Nora.

2. What Nora is

Nora is a financial coach and decision-support tool. It can connect supported accounts, display and organize financial information, calculate metrics, identify patterns, provide AI-assisted explanations and conversations, offer clearly labeled coaching suggestions, and let you create personal-finance Boards. Nora is not a bank and does not hold your money.

3. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18, legally able to enter a binding agreement, and use Nora only where it is lawful. Nora is currently intended for personal users in the United States and Canada. You must provide accurate information, protect your login credentials and email, verify your email when required before using financial features, and notify Nora if you think your account has been compromised.

4. Connecting financial accounts

Nora uses Plaid to connect supported institutions. You authorize Nora and Plaid to process the information you approve and confirm you may connect each account. Plaid and your institution may have their own terms and control available data, update timing, and connection availability.

5. Nora cannot move your money

Nora's current account functionality is read-only. It cannot initiate payments or transfers, withdraw money, execute trades, or otherwise move funds. Do not send bank passwords, card PINs, one-time banking codes, or similar credentials to Nora Chat.

6. Financial and AI information can be wrong

Institution data can be delayed, missing, duplicated, or miscategorized. Nora's normalization, calculations, recurring-payment estimates, and analysis can also be wrong. AI output can be incomplete, outdated, misleading, or incorrect even when it sounds confident. Treat your institution's records as authoritative and verify important information before acting.

7. Financial coaching and decision-support boundaries

Nora presents facts, interpretations, estimates, and optional coach suggestions as distinct types to help you make your own decisions. Nora is not acting as a financial or investment adviser, fiduciary, broker, dealer, bank, lender, accountant, tax adviser, lawyer, insurance adviser, credit counselor, or debt-relief provider. Nothing Nora produces is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold a security or other financial product. Nora does not guarantee savings, returns, debt reduction, tax results, or any other outcome. You remain responsible for your decisions and should consult a qualified professional before material or difficult-to-reverse action.

8. Your information and AI content

Nora does not claim ownership of your personal financial information or original content merely because it is processed by the service. You permit Nora to host, transmit, organize, analyze, and process it as reasonably necessary to provide, support, secure, and lawfully operate Nora.

You are responsible for information you intentionally submit to AI features and must have the right to provide it. AI output may not be unique, and you decide whether it suits your use.

9. Transaction edits and Boards

Transaction edits affect only how Nora displays or interprets a transaction; they do not change your institution's record. Boards are customized views and do not alter an account, balance, transaction, or obligation. AI-generated Boards may be validated or restricted before storage.

10. Plans and billing

The reviewed product has no payment processor, checkout, subscription record, entitlement system, cancellation flow, or refund flow. Nora may introduce paid tiers later. Before purchase, price, billing, renewal, cancellation, refund, tax, and price-change terms must be shown to you.

11. Acceptable use

You may not use Nora to:

  • access another person's account or financial information without authorization;
  • break the law, commit fraud, impersonate someone, or violate another person's rights;
  • bypass authentication, authorization, or other security controls;
  • disrupt, overload, scrape at scale, introduce malware, or exploit the service; or
  • reverse engineer Nora except where applicable law expressly permits it.

Nora may investigate suspected violations and restrict access where reasonably necessary.

12. Providers and administrative access

Nora relies on providers for financial connectivity, authentication, AI, infrastructure, databases, hosting, analytics, authentication telemetry and administration, and merchant information. Those services may change or become unavailable. Better Auth Infrastructure provides provider-hosted authentication audit and user or session administration capabilities. Stored information may be accessed when reasonably necessary to operate, support, troubleshoot, secure, or comply with legal requirements, as described in the Privacy Policy.

13. Availability, changes, and beta features

Nora has no service-level guarantee and may experience outages, delayed data, provider failures, and errors. Features may change, be limited, or be discontinued. Beta features may contain more errors or be removed. Do not use Nora as your only record of important financial information.

14. Disconnecting and ending use

You can disconnect or stop using Nora at any time. Disconnecting stops normal sync and asks Plaid to remove the connection, but does not itself delete synchronized information. Eligible data can be soft-deleted separately after provider removal. Nora does not yet have one account-wide deletion workflow or final retention periods, including for provider-hosted authentication events. See the Privacy Policy.

15. Suspension and termination

Nora may restrict or end access because of a material breach, security risk, suspected fraud, legal or provider requirements, non-payment of a future paid plan, or discontinuation. Terms that should continue by their nature remain effective after termination.

16. Ownership, feedback, and notices

Nora and its licensors retain rights in the service, software, interfaces, design, and branding. You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use it. Nora may use voluntary feedback without compensation; that grants no extra rights over private data.

Required notices may be provided in the product, by email, or another reasonable method. A legal contact and final governing-law and dispute terms are not yet published; until then, use the support page.
